3Com 3C16701 OfficeConnect Hub (8-Ports) 10Mbps Wired Ethernet

The OfficeConnect series is a group of hubs that have been optimized and designed for small Ethernet workgroups. The OfficeConnect hub 8/TPC is an entry level model that includes enhanced diagnostics over its counterpart (8/TPO) for those who want simple yet powerful networking. It has eight, 10Base-T RJ-45 twisted-pair ports and also has a BNC 10Base2 Coaxial port to allow connection to other units, up to 30 hubs can be daisy-chained in this manner on a single segment. This allows for easy network expansion at a later date. There is also the standard MDI/MDIX switch to allow connection of either a workstation or another Ethernet hub for up to a maximum of 4 hubs in series. Cascading the hubs in this way will require the use of one of the RJ-45 ports, but allows for expansion and the addition of network functions such as print and fax services. The hubs in the OfficeConnect line are able to physically lock using the 'clippable' feature, which allow you to stack the hubs 4 high with the included stacking clips. The OfficeConnect hubs support easy 'Plug-and-Play' installation, and your network can be up and running in a few minutes. This model includes eight network utilization LEDs for quick visual network traffic monitoring in addition to the standard diagnostic LEDs that are able to indicate packet receipt, packet collision, and port status. There is also a unique Alert LED that signals excessive network use that will also help with troubleshooting.
