Bay Networks CM1009E32 MicroAnnex XL Terminal Server, 16-Ports, Self Boot, Ethernet Interface
Today, the corporate network includes decentralized, multiprotocol, geographically dispersed users and applications. Centralized, host-based applications that run on UNIX, DEC VAX systems, and IBM mainframes remain critical to the enterprise. The Annex family of communication servers extends your corporate network to include local and remote multi-user system access. Annex offers a cost-effective and flexible solution for connecting asynchronous devices such as terminals, printers, and modems to multiprotocol Ethernet LANs. A full range of functionality is available with the Annex family from basic terminal server capabilities to more complex communications server functionality.
The MicroAnnex XL terminal server offers an economical method of connecting up to 16 asynchronous terminals, printers, and modems to TCP/IP-based Ethernet LANs. Terminal users can access multiple UNIX host systems using Telnet or Rlogin from a single terminal. A UNIX-style interface ensures ease-of-use because Annex commands are identical to UNIX equivalents whenever possible.
In addition to terminal server capabilities, the MicroAnnex XL also offers advanced communication server functions such as connectivity to DEC VAX systems and IBM mainframes, advanced security features, comprehensive management and wide area networking support.
This unit is configured with 16 ports and is self-booting. An ideal solution for configuration with modems, console ports, and terminals of all types.
