Dell POWERCONNECT-6248 PowerConnect 48-Port Layer 3 Gigabit Switch with AC Power Supply

The Dell PowerConnect 6248 is an ideal switch with advanced core switching capabilities for the small to medium enterprise. It features 48 10/100/1000 Base-T Ethernet switching ports that deliver enhanced-performance and reliable server connectivity. With auto-sensing Ethernet ports, the switch features 232 Gbps switching capacity. It provides automatic negotiation for speed, duplex, flow control and its auto-MDI/MDIX settings eliminate the need to manually configure ports. Delivering significant rack density, the PowerConnect 6248 gives users the flexibility to maximize server and workstation connectivity in a 1U form factor. Up to 576 servers and/or clients can be connected in a stack of twelve to provide the maximum density, flexibility, and manageability.

The IPv6 certified PowerConnect 6248 enables an increased number of unique IP addresses for broader scalability. It also supports up to 1,024 L2-L4 Access Control Lists (ACLs), allowing user to perform deep packet inspection. Further security is provided through Denial of Service (DoS) Attack Prevention, whereby the switch can protect against common network attacks and CPU attacks. In addition, The PowerConnect 6248 offers flexibility in Quality of Service (QoS) by giving network administrators the ability to prioritize time-critical network traffic based on a variety of user-defined criteria.
