The 6H258-17 and 6H259-17 are high-performance, high-capacity Fast Ethernet over fiber (100Base-FX) modules for the SmartSwitch 6000 chassis. The switching modules provide high port densities with 16 100Base-FX ports each (MMF or SMF) as well as a flexible uplink slot for connectivity to high-speed LAN or WAN backbones.
A fully configured SmartSwitch 6000 chassis delivers 80 switched ports of Fast Ethernet-over-fiber while simultaneously supporting up to five connections to high-speed backbone technologies such as Gigabit Ethernet or ATM. With distributed system performance in excess of 10 million packets per second and an unmatched feature set, the SmartSwitch 6000 is ideal for any enterprise backbone or wiring closet environment.
The MT-RJ connector type/standard, designed to make fiber optics easier and more affordable to deploy throughout the enterprise, is also supported on the SmartSwitch 6000 module, making it the industry's most cost-effective 100BaseFX switching solution.
