The 6E233-49 is a next-generation switched Ethernet module for the SmartSwitch 6000 chassis. Providing 48 full-duplex capable Ethernet ports and one High Speed Interface Module (HSIM) slot, it is ideal for environments that require high-density/high-performance Ethernet switching with flexible integrated connectivity to diverse LAN or WAN backbones such as Gigabit Ethernet, ATM or Frame Relay. In a SmartSwitch 6000 fully configured with 6E233-49 modules, capacity is doubled to 240 switched connections, and the modules HSIMS allow up to ten optional high-speed ports for integrated access to local servers or a campus backbone. The 6E233-49 and the SmartSwitch 6000 provide not only the best performing modular Ethernet switching solution available in the industry today, but also deliver unprecedented affordability (comparable with most vendors workgroup solutions) and an unmatched set of features and services.
