The Token Ring interface for the Nortel Networks Backbone Node (BN) routers combines flexible connectivity with high performance, and addresses the full range of internetworking requirements for Token Ring networks. Token Ring connectivity for the Backbone Link Node (BLN) and Backbone Concentrator Node (BCN) routers is provided by Quad Token Ring, Dual Token Ring, and Single Token Ring/Dual Synchronous Link modules. All Token Ring interfaces offer scalable connectivity and performance designed to take advantage of the symmetric multiprocessor architecture featured in the BN routers. Supported on all Nortel Networks routers, the Token Ring interface provides unmatched connectivity and can be installed in nodes containing Nortel Networks high-performance 100BASE-T, Ethernet, and Fiber Distributed Data Interface (FDDI) local area network (LAN) interfaces, and all wide area network (WAN) interfaces.
