Half Height Module for use in the BlueCoat and Packeteer Packeshapers models PS3500 and PS7500. Fiber SX Ethernet 1000

Packeteer's Fiber Optic half-height LAN Expansion Module, or LEM, offers some advanced features not available in all earlier models. This Fiber Optic LEM utilizes LC-type connectors and smaller, modular SFP (Small Form-factor Pluggable) transceivers that can be easily exchanged, if desired.

The LEM also has an RJ-11 port that can control an optional external optical bypass switch, enabling failover bypass in the event the Packeteer unit is reset or powered off. (Refer to the Packeteer Fiber Bypass Switch installation guide for additional information.) Bypass switch models are available for LEMs with SX or LX transceivers. No bypass switch is available for LEMs with 1000Base-T transceivers, or where matching transceivers are not found in both SFP ports on the LEM.
