These differ from Transition's Conversion Center or Media Converter Rack in that all ports are in a fixed configuration and each unit's conversion connector pair type is the same across all ports. The Telco to Fiber models provide high-density 50-pin connectivity - a growing standard that provides ease of installation and maintains a clean clutter-free environment. Using LANart Inside ASIC technology, Transition Networks advances the features while offering a low-cost solution for media conversion needs. The Link Alert technology, which is easily controlled by a front panel switch, automatically senses and reports up or down link faults to far end devices. AutoCross makes installation easy since it automatically detects TX/RX signals and internally corrects any misconfiguration. AutoCross technology eliminates an entire category of network troubleshooting by automatically matching crossed and uncrossed cables to the appropriate connection. The twisted pair port is instantaneously configured to the correct MDI or MDI-X configuration. Because most Ethernet technologies are unable to recognize downlink faults, a failed link may appear normal to network management, requiring unnecessary time devoted to troubleshooting. LinkAlert monitors all physical uplink and downlink failures and enables all faults to be detected by network management.
