The 6E233-49 is a next-generation switched Ethernet module for the SmartSwitch 6000 chassis. Providing 48 full-duplex capable Ethernet ports and one High Speed Interface Module (HSIM) slot, it is ideal for environments that require high-density/high-performance Ethernet switching with flexible integrated connectivity to diverse LAN or WAN backbones such as Gigabit Ethernet, ATM or Frame Relay. In a SmartSwitch 6000 fully configured with 6E233-49 modules, capacity is doubled to 240 switched connections, and the modules HSIMS allow up to ten optional high-speed ports for integrated access to local servers or a campus backbone.
