Alcatel Lucent OS685048X Omni Switch 6850-48X Ethernet Routing Switch

The OS6850 family offers customers a vast selection of switches and power options that will accommodate most needs. All of the OS6850 chassis support redundant, dual hot swappable AC, DC or PoE power supplies. By providing selected power supply options for 24- and 48-port PoE models, customers can prevent over or under provisioning power to their switches and save money by not having to purchase more than they need. The primary as well as the backup power supplies for the OS6850 models are external and connect to the rear of the unit. A power shelf provided with the unit, can slide into the rear of the chassis and is used to hold either two 360W PoE, 126W AC or 120W DC power supplies or one 510W power supply. For dual 510W configurations, the backup power supply has to be remotely mounted. Any power supply can be remotely connected using a cable in which case, the same power shelf can be mounted in the rack using the mounting ears, provided with the unit. This feature allows OmniSwitch 6850 to be used in areas with reduced-depth (e.g., a wall mounted cabinet).
