Description

The SG203 Security Gateway integrates advanced stateful firewall, VPN, bandwidth management, and IP telephony management capabilities for distributed mid-to-large enterprises with IP contact centers or converged voice/data networks.

The SG203 features four Ethernet interfaces and two industry-standard Cardbus/PCMCIA slots for expansion. The SG203 Ethernet interfaces are 10/100BaseT.
Two ports are reserved as private and public interfaces. For flexibility, the other ports can be configured as DMZ, Semi-Private (supporting VPN termination), back-up public, or management interfaces. Separate firewall policies can be applied for each interface, allowing the enterprise to deploy security zones within the corporate network, each with its own firewall access policies.

An advanced Stateful Multilayer Inspection (SMLI) firewall features customizable templates to simplify configuration. Built-in DoS attack protection mitigates against common DoS service attack signatures such as Ping of death, IP Spoofing, Smurf, Tear Drop, WinNuke, and Buffer Overflow. For IP telephony support an H.323 proxy supports Voice over IP (VoIP) through the firewall, while an integrated bandwidth manager helps ensure that VoIP and other critical applications receive adequate bandwidth support.
