Description

The Model 5378-F host module inserts into one slot of a Model 500x chassis and provides 16 10BASE-T and four 10BASE-F ports.The ports are grouped into four clusters, and each cluster consists of one 10BASE-F port with straight-tip (ST) connectors and four 10BASE-T ports with RJ-45 connectors. Each cluster can be assigned to any one of the 12 Ethernet chassis backplane segments, be assigned to one of the two module-level segments, or be assigned as an isolated (null) segment. All network statistics provided by the Model 5378-F host module are available to the Model 5310 Network Management module (NMM). The NMM collects statistics for all segments and ports in the System 5000 hub directly from the host module using the common management bus.
