Description

The Cisco 2501 router provides multiprotocol routing capability between WANs and LANs. The router features one Ethernet AUI port and two synchronous serial ports for connection to a WAN. This router can be used to create a firewall within the internetwork configuration or to the external Internet. Dial backup provides a more economical solution than a leased line when users require a backup link for disaster recovery. If access over the primary WAN link fails, the second synchronous port is automatically brought on line
