Multiple active connections to the network core - essentially doubling customers' network bandwidth with no extra investment-is achieved when inter-working with the Nortel Networks Passport 8600 switch. Up to 64 port-based or policy-based VLANs can be established for each switch, to extend the broadcast domain and segment network traffic. User and administrator authentication limit access to only authorized and trusted personnel; encryption protects the confidentiality of management transactions.
