The SoundStation2W Wireless Conference Phone is a circuit switched platform compatible with any analog telephone line or analog terminal adapter (No PBX system needed). It will work the same as a single-line telephone typical to most households that works on a landline. Most analog or digital systems can operate a single-line telephone. If you are unsure whether this Polycom will work on your system, try a single-line telephone on any extension (you will have to dial 9 to get an outside line).

Base station to console range is easily 150ft, but in more open environments with less walls and less frequency interference (a warehouse or construction site) range can reach up to 110 yards! This gives you the freedom to conference wherever team collaboration is important - even in rooms where there are no phone lines. In addition to being great for business use, the speakerphones on the SoundStation and SoundPoint models are also a great solution for someone who is hearing impaired. The sound quality is so good that our family dog, who had never before responded to voices over the phone, was fooled into thinking that our daughter was in the same room! Moreover, the volume can be increased so one who is hard of hearing may not even notice hearing loss. This amplified telephone is carefully designed so that all present in a conference room, even those who are partially deaf, can participate. This high fidelity conference phone could even make a standard hearing amplified phone or a phone amplifier unnecessary. The normal speaking voice at 3 feet is approximately 60 decibels. This speaker can easily amplify the speaking voice to 75 decibels at 3 feet. Busy street traffic, a garbage disposal or an alarm clock is between 70 to 80 decibels. (With the SoundPoint Pro, the handset with curly cord provides fine quality sound as well, but the phone's room speaker offers the best sound for a great hearing impaired solution.)
